Chester County Culinary Cook-Off

As part of the 31st Annual Chester County Restaurant Festival on Sunday, September 19, the Chester County Culinary Cook-off will return by popular demand hosting four notable county-based chefs battling their signature talents to become crowned the Best Chef of Chester County!

The three-round competition will premiere on the old courthouse steps at 2:30 pm with the four selected chefs, which includes Side Bar Chef Blaise Labik, Amani’s Chef Jon Amann, Silverspoon Cafe and Catering Chef Scott Bailey and The Blue Pear at the Dilworthtown Inn’s Chef Paul Brown, all concocting an appetizer (in 20 minutes), an entree (30 minutes) and a dessert (20 minutes), vying for the title of the local cooking competition.

The challenge also celebrates Buy Fresh, Buy Local ingredients and at the beginning of each round, a secret ingredient will be introduced and if the special selection is incorporated in the dish of each particular round, bonus points will be awarded to the specific chef who makes use.

Local food enthusiasts and writers were selected beforehand to act as judges of the competition, allowing the most deserving chef to be awarded the winning title. Judges will consider firstly the taste of each dish, as well as use of the mandatory ingredients and presentation. The best possible score per round is 35 points.

The local food battle will run from 2:30 pm and last until 5 pm, with a winner announced soon after. Who do you think has what it takes to take home the county’s food title? Be sure to watch the delicious competition live and find out!
