9th Annual Taste of Phoenixville at Franklin Commons

Ever wanted to wonder through Phoenixville’s elaborate food scene, but have yet to achieve delicious success? Why not attend the Taste of Phoenixville, to be held Thursday, January 20, the annual fundraiser of the Good Samaritan Shelter that unites local restaurants, caterers, bakers, chocolatiers, meat smokers and brewers to present their specialties — all in one space.

Celebrating its ninth year, the Taste of Phoenixville event is the major fundraising project of Phoenixville’s Good Samaritan Shelter, with all of its proceeds to benefit the ongoing work and ministry of the shelter’s emergency and traditional housing for as many local homeless men as their space allows.

This year the event has moved to the even bigger space of Franklin Commons (previous years were held at the Phoenixville Country Club). For the evening, the spacious corporate and recreational center will be donned with the theme “Follow the Lights,” a sophisticated spotlight set-up geared up to guide guests through the evening’s edible delights.

For $60 a ticket, attendees may weave their way through rooms full of fine foods and sweet treats, glasses of wine and pints of beer, all to please their palates and socialize with their neighbors and friends.

Restaurants and food vendors on the docket already include Columbia Bar and Grille, Daddy Mim’s Creole, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, Robert Ryan Catering, Marly’s, Artisan’s Café, Chester Spring’s Bakery, Majolica, and more. (View full list by clicking here.)

When attending, be sure to not make the rookie mistake. It takes lot of sheer will to resist all of the beguiling food and drink on offer in the first and second rooms of the Taste of Phoenixville event, but in order sample a smidgen from each local eatery, one must pace one’s self.

The evening will also host live bands, dancing and open bar, as well as a silent and live auction. Items up for grabs will include handmade pottery, a membership to the Phoenixville YMCA, spa and salon gift certifications, restaurant gift cards, cooking classes, and more. The live auction will begin at 8 pm, with prizes like an Outer Banks getaway, artwork, sculptures, etc.
