U.S. Rep Jim Gerlach to Visit Iron Hill Brewery of Phoenixville

Today, April 25 at 12:30 p.m., 6th District Rep. Jim Gerlach (R-PA) will visit Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant (130 East Bridge Street) to tour the facility and speak out in support of a bill he co-sponsored, H. R. 1236, the Small Brewer Reinvestment and Expanding Workforce (BREW) Act, which seeks to reduce the Federal Excise Tax on beer for America’s small brewers.  If passed, the resolution would put an estimated $27.1 million back in the hands of brewers, supporting job creation with much-needed capital that groups such as Iron Hill could use to expand their businesses.

The Small BREW Act is a visionary piece of legislature that would put critical funds back where they belong: with the small-business professionals who need them to continue to grow their breweries,” says Director of Brewery Operations Mark Edelson.  “We’re thrilled to welcome Rep. Gerlach and show him just how much this measure means to brewers like us.”

Upon his arrival, Rep. Gerlach will tour the restaurant and brewery.  Then, in the main bar area, Edelson will introduce him to guests and the congressman will speak briefly about the resolution, which is co-sponsored by Rep. Richard Neal (D-MA).  Rep. Gerlach will be available for a short time afterwards to shake hands and meet his constituents.
