Iron Hill Phoenixville to Host Beer Class, Tasting, Brewery Tour & Brunch June 18

On Saturday, June 18 beginning at 10:30 a.m., head brewer Tim Stumpf of Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant (130 East Bridge Street, 610-983-9333) will host a special Father’s Day Beer Class, Tasting and Brewery Tour featuring a post-tour brunch.  For just $30 per person, guests will be treated to a beer class with Stumpf and Assistant Brewer Matt Gundrum, followed by a guided tasting, a tour of their on-site brewery and a voucher for one brunch item and 10-oz. beer pairing, as well as a complimentary Iron Hill logo pint glass as a souvenir.  The event is limited to 30 guests, so reservations are required.

“We are hosting this tasting, tour and brunch as a special treat for dads, the day before Father’s Day,” says Stumpf.  “We’re even opening this event to guests under 21 who want to learn more about how our beers are made (although of course they’ll have to wait for the tasting!), making it a perfect family event on Father’s Day weekend.”

Brunch dishes and pairings will include:  Brioche French Toast with fresh berries, powdered sugar and pure maple syrup, paired with Belgian Witbier, a light-bodied, unfiltered Belgian-style wheat beer brewed with orange peels and coriander seeds;  Blue Crab Omelet, three eggs with guacamole, tomato, Swiss cheese and chives, served with roasted potatoes and toast, paired with Chardonnay Honey Saison, a Belgian farmhouse-style ale brewed with 60 lbs. of orange blossom honey and 60 lbs. of blueberry honey, aged in a chardonnay barrel for five months;  Banana Pancakes with whipped butterscotch butter and pure maple syrup, paired with Belgian Tripel, a traditional Belgian-style golden ale with nuanced notes of fruit and spice;  Exotic Mushroom Omelet with bacon, chives and Swiss cheese, served with roasted potatoes and toast, paired with Roggenbier, a German-style rye beer with full body, spicy character and rye, banana and clove notes;  and Eggs Florentine, two poached eggs with sautéed baby spinach on an English muffin, topped with Hollandaise and served with roasted potatoes, paired with Hefeweizen, a traditional, unfiltered Bavarian wheat beer that is a light and effervescent thirst quencher.
