Your Next Best Bite is a regular column featuring our recommendations for the most mouthwatering appetizer, entree or dessert that we’ve spotted in our area-wide restaurants.
Our Recommendation: Party Dogs
Where: Country Twist in the Lancaster County Farmers Market, 389 W. Lancaster Ave., Wayne
Ask any party server which appetizer is always a sure-fire hit, and I bet 7 out of 10 would say Pigs in a Blanket. My research, as unscientific as it may be, is from my summers working for Perfect Settings Caterers in Berwyn. Everyone loves a Pig in a Blanket.
If you’re not going to be at a wedding or party anytime soon, try these – Party Dogs at Country Twist in the Lancaster Farmers Market in Stratford.
The salty and juicy hot dogs are a perfect pop-in-your-mouth treat and cost just $2 for five little piggies. The tasty soft pretzel blankets the hot dog which has cheddar cheese cooked right into it. Let me repeat: there is cheese cooked right into the dog.
My cousin told me that you’re only supposed to have two hot dogs a year. I think she heard it on Oprah. If that’s the case, use your allotment wisely and enjoy some Party Dogs at Country Twist. Plus, they’re a bargain for a lunch or an anytime snack – 5 for $2 or a bag of 40 for $16 (to take home and freeze).
