West Chester Welcomes a Brand-New P.J. Whelihan’s

The newest P.J. Whelihan’s Pub and Restaurant opens on Tuesday, May 1st in the Dilworthtown Shopping Center, just south of West Chester along Route 202.

Whelihan’s is probably best known for their excellent selection of craft beers on tap and their wings. They will feature the same menu as their other locations, focusing on sandwiches, burgers, cheese steaks, and of course, their wings. Whelihan’s is the official supplier of wings for the infamous WIP Wing Bowl, which takes place each year on the Friday before the Super Bowl.

On Sunday, April 29, we had a chance to get a sneak peak at this new venue. A large rectangular bar anchors the restaurant, and is surrounded by tables and booths for family dining. Large screen televisions line the walls and the bar area, and will most definitely be showing your favorite Philadelphia sports teams in action. The new WC location is approximately 6,000 square feet, which is smaller than their popular 10,000 square foot location in Downingtown.

Whelihan’s CFO and Chester County resident Jim Fris was excited about opening the second location close to home. “We just found another great spot in Chester County and there’s tons of families local here. I just think this will be a great every day spot.”

Starting May 1st, Whelihan’s will be open daily, with regular operating hours of 11 am – 2 am. However, do note: They open at 4 pm on May 1. They are located at 1347 Wilmington Pike, West Chester, PA. Learn more about the new location by visiting them online at pjspub.com/westchester.
