Kennett Square Farmers Market and May Art Stroll This First Friday

This Friday in May is a big day for Kennett Square as they celebrate the opening of the Outdoor Farmers Market at 2 p.m., followed by the First Friday Art Stroll from 6-9 p.m.

The market will set up along the Genesis Building Brick Alley and along East State Street in the center of Kennett Square.  Local vendors bring a wide assortment of seasonal fresh produce, eggs and meats, artisan cheeses, hearty breads, seedling, garden plants, and so much more. The Farmers Market will have live music and several craft vendors, as well.  Bring the family and enjoy a unique experience!

As a bonus, Historic Kennett Square will hold Ribbon Cutting ceremonies for two new downtown businesses. Beginning at 5:30 pm with Longwood Crossfit, a new community fitness business at 109 S. Broad Street led by Bryan Ohr,  Owner/Head Coach. At 6:00 pm, visit Kennett Square’s newest gallery, studio and gift shop, regina joans at 117 West State Street.  Regina Latella will sell unique framed art, photography, hand made mattes & cards, as well as offering custom design services & photography classes.

Friday evening, the merchants of Kennett Square will be presenting their monthly First Friday Art Stroll. During the Art Stroll, downtown shops and galleries will stay open late and feature special sales or art exhibits, and light refreshments.  Two artist studios – Neilson Carlin of Studio Relivio on South Willow Street will demonstrate classic portrait painting and Charles Metzger Pottery will be throwing “pots” on South Union Street.  There will be a host of live music opportunities throughout town, including a block party band on South Union Street, classical guitar music at La Verona Restaurant, singer-songwriter Dain Mergenthaler at Willow On State Art Gallery, traditional Irish music at the Longwood Art Gallery, and Udo Inyang at Flickerwood Tasting Room.  End your evening at the Kennett Flash with Philadelphia-based artists Johnny Miles and the Honey Watts in Chester County’s best listening venue.
