Merchant of Menace Has Something For Mom

We recently had a the opportunity to attend the Grand Opening party for “The Merchant of Menace,” a tremendously hip new art gallery that opened in a historic schoolhouse in the recently updated village of Marshallton.

Many of the sculptures here are one of a kind. Giant forged metal flowers. Coat hooks adorned with blue cows, green fish and red pigs. A motorcycle, engineered from old tractor parts. One of a kind hutches and bookcases built from barn wood and painted primary colors. Creative artists have transformed salvaged every day items into beautiful works of art. It’s quite a remarkable little shop, and provides the perfect opportunity to walk down the village’s newly installed sidewalks after a meal at the Marshallton Inn or Four Dogs Tavern.

This  “Re-Imagineers Gallery” is the brainchild of Michael Arizin, who after thirty years working in finance has decided to develop this space and work with artists he loves.

We love everything about this place, from the beautiful historic building, to the sculptures that make you grin, to the caricature that is the Merchant who graces the sign out front. So if your mom enjoys whimsical art or perusing unique galleries, a gift from the Merchant of Menace or a surprise visit to this unique shop could be your solution for Mother’s Day!
