The Phoenixville Blues Festival is a wonderful event presented by the Steel City Blues Society each year in Reeves Parks. People gather from Phoenixville and surrounding towns to enjoy crafts, food, games, raffles, and most importantly, outstanding blues music! This year, the Steel City Blues Society wants to find the newest hidden talent out there and showcase them at the ever popular event. That’s why they are pleased to announce their “Blues Idol” competition!
Auditions will be held at the Steel City Coffee House on Wednesday, June 13 starting at 7 pm.
Six semifinalists will then be selected to perform at the Blues Festival Pre-Party on Friday, September 7 in a “sing off competition”. The final three contestants chosen from the pre-party will perform during the 2012 Phoenixville Blues Festival on Saturday, September 8. They will also each receive a cash prize. $300 for first, $200 for second and $100 for third!
Those who are interested in showing off their bluesy skills must sign up before June 1o through the official website. You will also find the official contest rules there. Contestants must be 14 or older to enter. There is a $5.00 entry fee.
