Sly Fox Beer Releases Homefront IPA, Benefits Operation Homefront

From donating a few dollars to volunteering for a military fundraiser, there are plenty of ways to give back to our troops for all their brave and valiant actions. Believe it or not, what might be one of your most common activities will now begin to contribute to the Armed Services in a big way.

Sly Fox Brewing Co. recently announced the availability of their Homefront IPA in late June and brewmaster Brian O’Reilly has been thrilled with the positive response he’s received. Although Brian expected people to be relatively “gung ho” about the patriotic beer, the immediate reaction surpassed his expectations. Apparently, when you make a beer that benefits and supports members of the U.S. Armed Services who served in either Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom and their families, it just comes with the territory.

According to Director of Sales Patrick Mullin, Sly Fox Brewing Co. sold out the entire batch in a single day. “Twenty-nine of our accounts in the city and suburbs signed on immediately, and will contribute $1 a pint or $125 a keg to the cause.” Patrick said. “Adding to that will be significant contributions from both Sly Fox and its wholesaler, Origlio Beverage. When all is said and done, we expect to raise $12,000 or more for the Pennsylvania/Delaware chapter of Operation Homefront.”

Operation Homefront is a charity which provides emergency assistance to military families. Sly Fox is one of six breweries around the country participating in “Hops for Heroes” by brewing Homefront IPA, a signature beer created at Fremont Brewing Co. in Seattle last year as a collaborative brew with Center of the Universe Brewing Co.

Sly Fox released their version of Homefront just in time for July 4th, so those who are interested can hurry to a nearby location (listed below) and drink up for a good cause!
