Liz Marden Closes Her Bakery

Sad news for pastry fans. Kennett Square’s most renowned bakery has abruptly closed up shop. Liz Marden Gourmet Cakes and Desserts made the announcement on Facebook on the afternoon of Monday, July 16th to their 1,415 fans. Liz wrote:

Dear Customers and Friends,

After careful consideration, I have decided to close Liz Marden Bakery & Café, as of July 15, 2012.

Brides with pending orders will be contacted this week regarding refunds due.

I have loved being part of the thriving energetic communities of Kennett Square and Hockessin. I am deeply grateful for my talented staff, my loyal customers and for the friendships I have developed during the past 25 years.

I am not yet sure what the future holds except I intend to continue pursuing this culinary profession that I love. And I am hopeful that our paths will cross again.

 Sincerely,

Liz Marden
