Brewery Ommegang Launches Scythe & Sickle Harvest Ale Release with 3 Philly Events, Beginning Sept. 18

Fall beer has arrived in an obnoxious fashion. It has already taken over shelves and taps before the summer beers even had a chance to see it coming. A lot of the familiar faces are back but if you’re looking for something completely new, Brewery Ommegang might be able to fill that void this year with the launch of their Scythe & Sickle Harvest Ale. According to Ommegang, the new beer is an amber ale brewed with a variety of malts, including pils, rye flakes and oat flakes, adding incredible depth of flavor and a hint of natural sweetness.

You could swing by a local bottle shop/distributor or a craft beer bar to find some for sampling but this “alternative to Oktoberfests and pumpkin ales” will only be available from September until November so don’t miss your window of opportunity to try the smooth and toasty beer.

Better yet, join Brewery Ommegang in celebrating the release of this magnificent creation at one of their upcoming events in the Philadelphia area. Each occasion will feature pay-as-you-go draughts of Scythe & Sickle and other rare Ommegang specialty beers. All events are from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Cheers!
