First Friday Art Stroll Returns to Historic Kennett Square, Oct. 5

First Friday Art Stroll is back in Historic Kennett Square this Friday, which means a community open house will take place downtown and you’re invited. The event runs from 6 to 9 pm and there will be live music on October 5 by Obsession Duo. The shops will be open late and offering refreshments so be sure to stop by and enjoy as many displays while you’re here.

Also, don’t forget to return for the Annual Halloween Parade on Sunday, October 28th at 3 pm.

Open houses for the First Friday Art Stroll are as follows:

FROLIC at 101 W. State St. invites you to meet beaded jewelry designer Johanna Zitto on First Friday and view her hand-crafted beaded bangles in a variety of luscious Fall colors.  Her work was recently published in the book SHOWCASE 500 BEADED JEWELRY.

LONGWOOD ART GALLERY at 200 E. State St. hosts local artist Philip Lang through October with his oils, pastels and watercolors.  Meet Philip on Friday and enjoy live music and wine & cheese will viewing his wonderful landscapes.

SCOUT & ANNIE at 125 E. State St. presents  Mike Zohn, star of the Science Channel’s hit show “Oddities” on First Friday from 6-8 pm.  He will be discussing his show & its creepy brand of antique specialties as we kick off the Halloween season. Drop by for a harvest brew and chat with Mike.

THE CENTER FOR VIBRANT LIVING  in collaboration with WILLOW ON STATE will hold a show of the tactile gourd sculptures of Tina Skinner, poetic still life photographs by Matthew Freeman, and live figure painting with Neil Carlin of RILIEVO STUDIO.  Stop by to see the many wonderful pieces of art and craft, plus live music and refreshments.

FLICKERWOOD WINE TASTING ROOM at 116 W. State St. welcomes you to enjoy wine tastings and live music with friends.  Bob, Jeff and Eli from Udo Inyang will perform from 7 – 10 pm on First Friday.

CHARLES METZGER POTTERY at 107 S. Union Street will be serving light refreshments and demonstrating the throwing of plates on his potters wheel for First Friday.

BLISS YOGA STUDIO at 123 E. State Street (2nd fl, back of bldg) features the work of local photographer Elissa Cardile and DE artist and art instructor, Jag Deshpande.

MYSTIQUE BOUTIQUE at 112 E. State Street, features the award-winning art of the “Barn Lady”, Sherry McVickar, along with their fabulous Fall men’s and ladies’ fashions.

GREENABLE  at 116 S. Union St. invites you to their showroom for a One Year Anniversary celebration, featuring repurposed art by The Merchant of Menace Gallery & wine from Spodee. Look for one of a kind, original repurposed art work ranging from robots made of old car parts, rings made from antique marbles and journals made from vintage records.  5 – 8 pm

KENNETT FLORIST at 405 W. State St. is offering a 25% discount on all of their Fall silk arrangements and wreaths during October.

KENNETT RESALE BOOK SHOPPE at 113 S. Union Street has an October special with all hardbound Historical Fiction, Fiction, and Mystery books two for $5.00. They have a large selection, so stop by and pick up some books for those dark cool evenings this Fall.
