Get a Taste of Fall on October 14 with Junior League of Philadelphia

With the recent chilly temperatures, there’s no denying that fall has arrived. Cascading leaves, darker skies and heavy apparel are also signs of the new season. However, fall wouldn’t be it’s usual self without cozy cuisine, deliciously warming drinks and jolly company, all of which can be conveniently found  in one spot this Sunday, October 14th from 1 to 4 p.m.

The Junior League of Philadelphia is welcoming friends of all ages to attend their Taste of Fall event at the Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse in East Fairmount Park.

“The Taste of Fall is one of our most important fundraisers as the proceeds benefit our ‘Apple a Day’ program,” shared Kristen Behrens, co-chair of the event. “This program creates a plan of action for distributing fresh food and providing interactive education about nutrition for children and families in the Philadelphia community.  The Taste of Fall fosters a cultural and social experience, and allows attendees to sample fare from local restaurants, wineries, distilleries, and breweries. We will have live music, vendors and children’s activities – so bring the whole family!”

It wouldn’t be a “taste” of Fall without flavorful treats to munch on, which is why tempting food from Elevation BurgerKa’Chi TruckCarlinos, Lasorda’s, Sage Catering, Nutmeg, Just Desserts, and more, will all be on site and serving up delicious offerings for your enjoyment. Other vendors include Coach Tomato, Cricket Catering, Penn Rose Diner, Houlihan’s and Entenmann’s.

There will certainly be food for everyone and the same goes for beverages, which you’ll find are perfect to pair with the numerous local treats. Guests of the beer drinking nature can help themselves to Flying Fish Brewing Company’s special selections. Also, cocktails will be mixed using award-winning Clique Vodka, Philadelphia Distilling’s handcrafted products, Sweet Revenge and St. Germain liqueur, plus other various mixers from Tri-State Liquors. Don’t forget, there will also be a variety of unique crafts and artisanal products for guests to peruse and take home.

The cost is only $40 (21+) to enjoy a festive afternoon in the outdoors filled with food, wine, beer, activities, and live music. Young adults (12-20) can obtain entry with a $20 ticket, those under 12 are just $10, and children under 2 are free. Those interested may purchase tickets HERE.
