The holidays may be over but Longwood Gardens has still got it! Although their extra special Christmas exhibit is a tough act to follow, an Orchid Extravaganza, running from January 19th until March 24th, will surely blossom this year.
The significance behind this beautiful show lies deep in Longwoods Garden’s history. Orchids were one of the first collections that Pierre S. du Pont and his wife Alice developed for the Gardens. To celebrate this history, Orchid Extravaganza will be presented in the lush Conservatory where nearly 5,000 orchids drape from walls, and flow from baskets and towering arches in artful displays.
The rare blue-poppies are also not to be missed as part of the display in March, along with several other special events unfolding at the Gardens throughout the Orchid Extravaganza. Find more details HERE.
