(CLOSED) What’s For Dessert, Joy the Baker? (Cookbook Giveaway!)

PA Eats recently hosted the fabulous Joy Wilson of Joy the Baker on our weekly radio show, WCHE’s 1520 AM’s Eat, Drink & Meet Mary! In conjunction with her radio appearance, the charming West Coast baker has offered up a copy of her book, Joy the Baker Cookbook.

Before you dive into the details on how to snag a copy of her complimentary cookbook, we decided to get up-close and personal, dessert-style, with Joy, asking her to gush about what she thinks is tops in her sugary world and, of course, reminding you that some of the best bites in life are so made with butter.

HELLO FROM: Venice Beach, California where the taco trucks are majorly gourmet and the ocean water sparkles.

FAVORITE DESSERT OF THE MOMENT: Freshly fried churros with a dark chocolate dipping sauce are my favorite dessert of the moment.

BEST SLICE OF CAKE YOU’VE EATEN TO DATE & WHERE YOU DEVOURED IT: My Dad’s Texas Sheet Cake is the best cake I’ve ever eaten. We have this cake for every family birthday celebration. It’s the best!

FAVORITE SWEET TREAT OF YOUR CHILDHOOD: The first thing I learned how to bake on my own was Dark Chocolate Brownies. Because I could sneak into the kitchen and make them on my own, they quickly became my favorite treat growing up.

YOUR ULTIMATE DESSERT & DRINK PAIRING: I love Banana Cream Pie with sweet milky coffee.

#1 BAKING INGREDIENT YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: I really love King Arthurs Double Dutch Cocoa Powder. It’s deep, dark, and totally alluring.

NAME THE FIRST RECIPE THAT “MADE THE CUT” FOR THE Joy the Baker Cookbook AND WHY:  The first recipe to make the cut was my aunt’s Cream Cheese Pound Cake.  It’s a family staple and I knew I wanted to share the recipe in my first cookbook.
