Booze Soon: Borough Council Approves Liquor License for Roots Cafe

Thumbs up—Roots Cafe’s request to serve alcohol has been approved by West Chester Borough Council!

Inside Roots Cafe

Roots Cafe was granted a unique “economic development liquor license,” which is different than the license normally found in restaurants. Roots will only be allowed to make 30 percent of its income from alcohol, and the PLCB will be keeping a close eye on everything. Find more details on this on West Chester Patch.

Roots must now take its case to the Liquor Control Board. It’s hard to tell how long that could take, but we’ll be hoping for a Dan Cellucci–crafted cocktail at Roots by next summer!
