Traditional with a Twist: Top Reinvented Thanksgiving Recipes

Thanksgiving planning has never been such a delicious challenge. From talented bloggers to Pinterest to recipe sites, the web is packed with ultra-creative recipes and swoon-worthy food photography. Of course, one has to preserve a few family favorite recipes; it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without my Gram’s cranberry sauce. But for those who love to put spins on the traditional Thanksgiving spreads, there’s never been a better time to test-drive some new dishes.

To get started on the planning, we’ve pulled together a roundup of recipes that we’d love to serve below. Not up for cooking? Local chefs are getting creative, too. Tastes we’d love to try on T-day include baked ham with balsamic fig glaze at Glenmorgan Bar & Grill; the pumpkin budino with spice cream and gingersnaps at Paramour; and crab & butternut bisque with coriander-sage croutons at The General Warren Inne. Or, try my favorite tradition: drop off the turkey at Jimmy’s BBQ to have it smoked to perfection.
