Pucker Up: Sour Beer Invades Philly’s Devil’s Den

Sour beer is a taste that many love for its unique twist. For those who know and love sour beer or are curious about this sure-to-make-you-pucker type of brew, the 5th Annual Pucker Up! Sour Fest at Devil’s Den is a must-attend event.

Devils Den 2

From August 16–22, Devil’s Den is the place to be for sour brews of all varieties. Starting the week off right, on August 16 and 17, the entire draft tower at Devil’s Den will be filled with sour beers. That’s 17 different sour beers on tap. The remaining days will feature eight lines filled with these deliciously sour brews. Some of the beers you can try during Sour Fest include Bruery’s Sour in the Rye, Bruery’s Oude Tart, Off Color’s Troublesome, Ithaca’s White Gold and a number of sours from Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales. Throughout the week approximately 60 different sour beers will be made available to the sour brew-loving masses.

Also taking place during Pucker Up! Sour Fest is an instructional sour beer class presented by Don Russell, aka Joe Sixpack. The class will take place on Tuesday, August 19, from 7–10 p.m. Those who attend will learn all about sour beers, enjoy samples of six delicious sours (6 oz. glasses) and have some appetizers, too. Tickets are $35; you’ll want to get these as soon as possible to avoid a sellout.

Whether you are new to sour brew or have a deep fondness for these crafty beers, don’t miss this year’s Sour Fest events at Devil’s Den.
