Mark Your Calendars for This Year’s Sip, Savor, Stroll Street Food Festival (Sept. 18)

While your calendars may already be filling up with the start of festival season, you should absolutely be marking September 18 in your planner, as soon as possible. The annual Sip, Savor and Stroll Street Food Festival is gearing up for its return to the streets of Mt. Airy. Anytime you can walk along the normally bustling streets uninterrupted from traffic and dig into some deliciously tasting edibles, well, we like to call that a good time.

With more than 50 food, beer and wine vendors, this year’s Street Fare promises to be bigger and better than ever. On Germantown Avenue, between Sedgwick St. and Mt. Airy Avenue, food trucks and local artisanal businesses will line the streets to satisfy your every culinary hope and dream. While we couldn’t possibly list all of those businesses attending, we can tell you that local favorites like AvenidaEarth Bread + BreweryKa’ChiMompops and The Cow and the Curd will all be in attendance.

In addition to the food and drink scene, the folks running the Street Fare certainly didn’t fall short on the entertainment aspect either. They’ve got two stages with jam-packed music line-ups throughout the evening. There will also be a viewing of the Eagles vs. KC Chiefs on a live, outdoor simulcast at 8:25 p.m. If you’re bringing the little ones, there will be a family activity area from 6–8 p.m. with loads of opportunities for the kids to have a good time. So get your maps out and devise a plan to weave your way up and down Germantown Avenue on September 18.
