MilkCrate: Newest Crowd-Funded App to Increase Sustainable Living Awareness

In this digital day and age, it seems that just about anybody can create a crowd-sourced fund for just about anything under the sun. While it’s understandable to be wary about most, MilkCrate is one that should definitely have your attention, especially if you have any interest in living a more sustainable lifestyle. MilkCrate is looking to help people access information that would normally be found all over the Internet in one convenient little hub.

Currently, MilkCrate provides a database for users to search in a list and map format. But that’s just the beginning of a bigger vision for Morgan Berman, founder and CEO of MilkCrate. She recently teamed up with several like-minded folks who also share a passion for lessening their impact on the Earth and want to work together toward providing an app that will allow users to search local businesses who also care about sustainability. These businesses will have the ability to promote their mission, values and upcoming events to the Philadelphia population. Currently on board with MilkCrate are the three co-ops in the Philadelphia area: Swarthmore Co-op, Weaver’s Way Co-op and Mariposa Co-op. Along with the food co-ops, the Sustainable Business Network of Philadelphia and Fair Food have also joined in.

If you’re wondering how you can get involved, the answer is very simple: donate. Every little bit helps and no amount is too little. With each donation, consumers like you will receive perks, and plenty of them. While there’s far too many to list here, take a look at the many advantages to donating to a cause so close to people’s hearts these days. This campaign is aiming to raise $20,000 and will come to a close on September 23. Watch the video here:
