Pomona’s Woodfired Café Becomes Fidler & Co. Craft Kitchen & Grocery

A big announcement came out of Adams County last week: Marc Jalbert, owner of Gettysburg Baking Co. (a.k.a. Pomona’s Woodfired Cafe), recently handed over the reins to Dan and Josh Fidler, of Fidler & Co. Craft Kitchen & Grocery.

These brothers, both veterans in the restaurant industry, have some grandiose plans for their new space. One thing you can count on is that their “Woodfired. Inspired.” mantra will remain intact at their newest venture. Josh is set to man the kitchen with Sous Chef Sam Strock under his wing, while brother Dan will carry out front of house duties. Gettysburg Baking Co. isn’t exactly throwing in the towel, however, and will continue to independently offer its artisan bread and pastry line out of Fidler & Co.

PA Eats team recently had the privilege of attending an exclusive dinner in the home of Josh Fidler. Four local chefs combined to produce a meal that highlighted the many different layers that Adams County has to offer, and we gladly indulged in the various plates that graced the table that evening. This underground pop-up dinner, aptly called 154 Supper Club, has one purpose: to showcase the often unnoticed talent growing in the Gettysburg area.

Josh & Dan Fidler had this to say about their new location: “We are excited to carry on the craft traditions set forth by Marc Jalbert while forging our own culinary paths. Fidler & Co. Craft Kitchen brings the very best in elegant, rustic dining utilizing and drawing inspiration from the local farms that surround us. We live by a simple philosophy. We love to cook and cook what we love.”
