Chester County Hospital Foundation’s SHiNE Gala Coming to Garces Group’s Newest Restaurant (Nov. 8)

SHiNE Gala 2014 Invitation (1)
Sixteen years ago, the owner of Calista Grand Salon and Day Spa, Maria McCool, initiated what has now become a force to be reckoned with. The SHiNE Gala is set to unfold on November 8 at Old Original Bookbinder’s, Garces Group’s newest restaurant in Old City, Philadelphia. This annual dinner dance sets out to raise funds for the patients of The Cancer Program of Chester County Hospital and to provide a day of beauty for local survivors. Ticket holders will enjoy an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, a silent auction and plenty of opportunities to dance the night away with live music.

Each year, the SHiNE Gala recognizes a member of the community who has had an impact on locals living with cancer. This year’s honor will be presented to Maria McCool, one of the founding members of the SHiNE Gala. Each year, Maria and her staff at Calista Grand Salon and Day Spa provide cancer patients the opportunity for a wig fitting as well as a day of pampering to make them feel like themselves again. Maria has been praised for her outward display of kindness, compassion and generosity toward the cancer patients within the community.
