3 Ways to Do Good with Meals on Wheels Delaware

Meals on Wheels is reminding us exactly what this season should focus on…giving. After the buzz of Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, kick off the Season of Giving and inspire your community to give back to the organizations and causes they feel strongly about. There are plenty of organizations that provide so much good in the area that could always use an extra push. This year’s Giving Day is being held on Tuesday, December 2. The more people we get involved, the more successful this project can be. If you’d prefer to donate directly to Meals on Wheels, your donation will ensure seniors in Delaware receive hand-delivered, hot meals from a dedicated volunteer.

Here’s how it will work:

  1. Donate to the organization of your choice on Tuesday, December 2.

  2. Share your support with your friends and family via social media and tag Meals on Wheels through your various platforms (Facebook, TwitterInstagram, etc.).

  3. Watch #GivingTuesday revolutionize the season of giving.

Meals on Wheels is also spreading the word about their Adopt a Senior Program. For many seniors over the age of 60, daily meals are a big concern. With your monetary donation, you can help safeguard that no eligible senior in Delaware is on a waiting list to receive a meal. Consider helping those less fortunate who could really use some assistance.

The holiday goodness doesn’t stop there either. Each year, Meals on Wheels hosts a Celebrity Chef’s’ Brunch. The 2015 brunch will be held on April 19 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Tickets will go on sale to the public on January 1. Meals on Wheels is letting you in on a little secret. They’re bumping up the date and offering holiday discounted prices beginning Friday, November 28. Talk about giving back! The ticket link will be live on November 28, so be sure to check back next Friday for your chance to score tickets to the much buzzed about Celebrity Chef’s Brunch.
