Drink This Now: Sly Fox’s “Working Class” Ale—Grisette in Cans!

Grisette

Just in time for Memorial Day weekend, Sly Fox Brewing Company has brought back one of our favorite summer seasonal beers: Grisette!

Roll up your shirtsleeves and enjoy this locally made “working-class” Belgian-style ale, originally brewed in Belgium’s Hainaut province to be the beer of the local miners. The name is derived from the French word for “gray,” referring both to the color of the cobblestones being mined and to the dull factory garb worn by the young women (the Grisettes) who handed out pints as the men left their jobs for the day.

You won’t find anything boring about this 5.6% ABV brew, a two-time Great American Beer Festival award winner (gold, 2014; silver, 2013). Its spicy notes make Grisette perfect for warm-weather, outdoor enjoyment, and the cans are easily packed for picnics, campouts, hikes and road trips. Pick up a six-pack, kick back and enjoy. You’ve worked hard—you deserve it!
