5 Excellent Reasons to Experience the New Terrace at Normandy Farm

The Terrace at Normandy Farm

Normandy Farm in Blue Bell just got even better with the opening of its new Terrace at the farmer’s daughter. Upon passing through the doors to the outside seating area, visitors are greeted by an expansive bar that’s made from rustic reclaimed wood, umbrella-shaded tables for alfresco dining and welcoming rocking chairs circled around a fire pit—the perfect spot to sip drinks as the sun goes down.

Whether you want to order from the full menu or indulge in small plates and drinks while getting together with friends, the choice is yours when partaking in this luxurious seating area. Need some incentive to cozy up at our new favorite alfresco experience? Here are the top five reasons to hightail it over to Blue Bell today!

Reason 1: Specialty Cocktails and Top-Notch Craft Beer Offerings

Cocktail and Starters at The Farmer's Daughter

Interested in specialty cocktails that are perfect for summertime swigging? Try the Pink Sunset, Orange Moscow Mule or Key Lime Martini—all which are dangerously delicious and the perfect accent to post-work activities. If craft beer is more to your liking, you’ll love the vast offerings that range from locally brewed favorites to more hard-to-get, West Coast beers. The good news is that, with the farmer’s daughter being so close by, you can stop in for lunch, dinner or drinks and try a different cocktail or beer each time. (We dare you!)

Reason 2: Impeccable, Soul-Warming Culinary Options

Terrace, Normandy Farm

When it comes to culinary options, the farmer’s daughter does not fool around. Every so often I come across a restaurant where there really is no wrong choice when it comes to selecting an appetizer, entree or dessert, and here, this sentiment rings true. Sample seasonal fare and feel confident knowing that your meal at the farmer’s daughter will be exceptional. Some of the standout summer samplings from executive chef Mtele “Abu” Abubakar and his staff include the confit duck flatbread layered with tart poached cherries and hunks of goat cheese and the Texas nosh, a whimsical take on slow-roasted pork-stuffed peppers gracing a sweet tomato sauce.

Sunday Chicken entree at The Farmer's Daughter

Don’t skip the rustic Sunday chicken either—perhaps the best poultry dish our always-hungry paws have ever stumbled upon (pictured above). Roasted, tender and juicy, paired with hearty accents like fingerling potatoes, carrot puree and garlic scapes, this is better than any mother has ever prepared (sorry mom). We’d be amiss to skip mentioning other favorites like the overnight braised lamb shank crowning cherry grits and any of the life-changing desserts (salted chocolate caramel torte anyone?). Come hungry and visit often!

Reason 3: Stellar Customer Service in an Inviting Setting

Normandy Farm Terrace and Bar

Any true dining experience starts the minute you walk through the front door. As soon as I entered Normandy Farm, I was greeted not only with the rustic charm of the location but also by friendly faces at every turn, and I was treated to high-quality service throughout my visit. Whether perched at the bar having drinks or seated at one of the perfectly arranged tables on the patio, I was attended to by bartenders and servers who were more than happy to answer any questions about the menu and ensure that I had what I needed.

Reason 4: Special Events and Live Bands Throughout the Summer

Rocking Chairs and Fire Pit at The Terrace

In addition to the ambience and culinary choices that await diners on the Terrace, special events—including live bands throughout the summer—are another reason to head to the farmer’s daughter. From the Summer of Local Love to various musical acts appearing on the events calendar, the Terrace will be filled with activity and excitement all summer long.

Reason 5: A Resort Vibe Within a Short Drive

When sitting on the Terrace, you are bound to feel as if you are at a resort location. The area is nestled within the hotel and conference center, so you won’t see cars going by or hear the sounds of local traffic. (Let us remind you—they are right off Route 202 but you wouldn’t have a clue!) Add in the fact that there are spa-like waterfalls and lights interlaced throughout the seating area, and relaxation is a sure bet. Best of all, you don’t have to drive far to achieve the resort-like feel that the new Terrace at Normandy Farm offers.

Summer is underway, and the Terrace has opened just in time with the perfect place to dine, relax and enjoy a wide array of entertainment on sunny days and starlit nights.
