What Goes Into a Five-Ton Italian Hoagie?

Wawa Hoagie Day

Early this morning (at 5 a.m.!), 150 Wawa associates teamed up to construct a five-ton hoagie that was served—for free!— at Philadelphia’s Independence Visitor Center at noon. This massive sandwich totaled 21,000 Shorti hoagies from 10,000 pounds of ingredients, with the first 5,000 hoagies built being donated to Philabundance to distribute to its community shelters throughout the Delaware Valley.

But, what really goes into creating a five-ton Italian hoagie? We have the full recipe below! Warning: you will need a ton of friends to attempt to re-create this yourself!
