Manatawny Still Works to Release New Hidden River Barrel Rested Gin (Sept. 5)

Manatawny Still WorksManatawny Still Works in Pottstown is introducing an interesting spirit on Saturday, September 5. Hidden River is the product of aging Manatawny’s Odd Fellows No. 214 Gin in premium oak whiskey barrels for several months.

“Barrel-aged, or in this case ‘rested,’ gin is very en vogue right now,” said Max Pfeffer, Manatawny Still Works’ founding distiller. “But that’s not why we created this spirit. For a small distiller, we are breaking new ground and showcasing a full, well-respected portfolio. People loved our gin and we really wanted to offer an excellent barrel rested version.”

The spirit takes on a light amber color and delivers the right amount of sweetness while still being warm when sipped neat. Underlying juniper flavors mesh well with the hints of oak and whiskey to create a mysteriously complex gin.

Manatawny Still Works will offer limited edition, 750ml bottles on a first-come, first-served basis in their tasting room on September 5, starting at noon.
