Event You Can’t Miss: Street Fare: Sip, Savor and Stroll in Mt. Airy (Sept. 17)

Street Fare 1

Street Fare 2Gentle moonlight, a crispy evening and a walk through Mt. Airy make for sweet salvation as the work week comes to a close. This Thursday, September 17, Street Fare brings even more color and energy to already-exciting Germantown Avenue with an array of eating, shopping and musical offerings.

More than 50 vendors of locally produced craft beers and notable restaurants will bring flavor to this Thursday’s Street Fare: Sip, Savor and Stroll. Music on two stages will provide the backdrop for the night as Street Fare shines a light on Mt. Airy’s blossoming restaurant scene.

Jyoti Indian Bistro is dishing “soul food of India” as the big scents of Punjabi welcome open-air diners. So will the smoky allure of Streetside BBQ, Trolley Car Diner and Earth Bread + Brewery, among many others.

Street Fare 4Rolling characters include the mobile-dining offerings of Dump ’n Roll, Foolish Waffles, Scratch, The Tot Cart, Eat-a-Pita, PB and Jams, Farm Truck Philly and others.

Of course, retail therapy is an option as Philly Word Art, Sweet Sally’s Soap and Stitch Prism join other vendors along the street. Hennessey Bonfire, PhillyBloco, and School of Rock are all a part of the evening’s musical spectrum.

Even better, there’s a family element to Street Fare, too including a Family Activity Zone located outside of Mt. Airy Presbyterian Church (corner of Germantown Avenue and Mt. Pleasant Ave).

For all of the above, plus so much more, hit the Street Fare this Thursday, 6–10:30 p.m. along Germantown Avenue (between Sedgwick Street and W. Mt. Airy Avenue) in Mt. Airy.

Street Fare: Sip, Savor and Stroll is presented by Mt. Airy USA, with support from the City of Philadelphia Commerce Department, Penn Medicine Chestnut Hill, Rapid Recovery at Caring Heart Rehabilitation and Nursing, East River Bank, PFCU, Electrical Wizardry, Mid Atlantic FX and others.
