Coatesville to Celebrate Heritage Day (Oct. 17)

The city of Coatesville will continue to commemorate its 2015 anniversary with a centennial celebration for the whole family. On Saturday, October 17, join in on Coatesville Heritage Day, which will begin at the Lukens National Historic District, located at Lincoln Highway (Bus. Rt. 30) and 1st Avenue.

Numerous events are scheduled from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., but you can start the day off early with the Fall Pancake Breakfast. Food will be served from 8 a.m.–noon at the Brandywine Goddard Lodge #383 F&AM (Masons) at 360 E. Lincoln Hwy. Tickets will be $7 for adults and $3 for children and are only available at the door.

Heritage Day tours and activities begin at 10 a.m. Sign in at the Gordon School or at Lukens National Historic District. The guest book will be placed in a time capsule and programs for the day will be available.

On Harmony Street, food trucks featuring Dino’s Ice Cream, Happy Pita, Chester County Food Bank and more will be serving up food and beverages.

Several free parking options include:

  • Lots next to and across from City Hall, except the police lot
  • Lots along 3rd Avenue between Lincoln & Harmony
  • Lot at 3rd & Maple
  • Lot next to Coatesville Flower Shop on Lincoln Hwy between 2nd & 3rd (enter from the west on Diamond)
  • Lot at 1st & Lincoln next to old First Niagara Bank
  • Remember, all metered street parking is free on Saturdays in the city of Coatesville!

Also note that Kersey Street will be closed from 3rd to 4th Avenues.
