The 5th Annual Harry Potter Festival in Chestnut Hill will take place this weekend with Hogwarts-themed activities on Friday, October 16, and Saturday, October 17.
On Friday, from 5–10 p.m., Iron Hill Chestnut Hill will debut two Harry Potter-inspired brews: Dumbledore’s Dubbel and Voldemort’s Wrath IPA. There will also be a fall cocktail and food menu based around characters from J. K. Rowling’s well-known series.
Dumbledore’s Dubbel, brewed in honor of the fallen Albus Dumbledore, is a mahogany ale with the sweetness of dark Belgian candi sugar and a distinct aroma of plum and pear. It has won World Beer Cup medals in 2006 and 2010. Voldemort’s Wrath IPA is an intensely hopped West Coast-style IPA with a bitter hop character and a burst of tropical citrus and pine.
Not a beer fanatic? Iron Hill’s Pumpkin Juice cocktail is an autumnal twist on the classic Dark & Stormy with spiced and dark rums, ginger beer and house-made pumpkin pie spice syrup.
Harry Potter-inspired menu items will include:
- Aunt Petunia’s Mulligatawny Soup
- Slytherin Smoky Pumpkin Salad with spinach, shaved shallot, smoked cheddar cheese and Sirius Black poppy seed dressing
- Ron’s Corned Beef Toasts with coleslaw, Swiss cheese and whole grain mustard mayo
- Hogwart’s Express Pumpkin Pastry filled with herb-infused goat cheese and pumpkin puree
- Dumbledore’s Cauldron Beef Stew, served over rice with toasted baguette
- Butterbeer-Braised Pork Loin with creamed spinach, roasted fingerling potatoes and braising jus
- Pan-Seared Chinese Fireball, North Atlantic salmon with sesame “Harry”-cots verts, wasabi mashed potatoes and dragon honey sauce
- Mrs. Weasley’s English Toffee Crumble over vanilla ice cream
