Why You Should Get on Par with a Blue Bell Country Club Membership

The Blue Bell Country Club of Montgomery County is definitely setting a precedent for what an enterprising country club should be. With the Blue Bell area recently claiming the dubious distinction of being one of the snobbiest towns in America (don’t worry, that’s a good thing), according to onlyinyourstate.com, we believe that this country club is on the right track.

Although the Signature Arnold Palmer 18-hole golf course (designed by the legend himself) is certainly the premier anchor of this private 220-acre campus, members are offered so much more than golf.

Inside the manicured, brick 21-year-old clubhouse, Gary Murray, director of sales and marketing explained, “No longer are we just a traditional country-club environment. We consider ourselves more progressive than other clubs in the area. We’re catering to young couples, families, single women as well as Baby Boomers.”

Rich Clegg, activities and sales manager added, “It’s inspiring to see the mix of people socializing together here. Especially during the Quizzo or local beer-tasting events. The interaction among the different age groups is energizing to everyone and makes Blue Bell Country Club a valuable asset to this community.”

In addition to a wide array of inclusive golf tournaments, there is a fully equipped fitness center, crystal-clear outdoor swimming pool and cabana and a professional driving range. Inside, the relaxed and inviting Putter’s Grill with its welcoming bar, wraparound deck and breathtaking golf-course view is host to some of the most classically creative menu selections in the area. Traditional fare such as wings, hoagies or flatbreads are always popular. Or, indulge in some of the seasonal “modern American” cuisine choices by Executive Chef Mtele “Abu” Abubakar including crispy skin salmon, chicken Marsala or a crowning Catch of the Day.

Keeping with current craft beer trends, Putter’s Grill also scores with a rave-worthy list of brews that include Sly Fox, Dogfish Head and, of course, local favorite Victory. “We love supporting our local breweries and enjoy coordinating onsite beer (and wine) tasting events where the brewers speak about the process and the product,” boasted Clegg.

The Blue Bell Country Club is a slice of the highly successful Hansen-Properties Group including the astonishing Normandy Farm Hotel and Conference Center as well as the oh-so-rustic chic farmer’s daughter restaurant nestled within. Blue Bell Club members are privy to exclusive perks among the close-knit properties. “We consider this a place where a member feels like they’re part of a resort with access to Normandy and farmer’s daughter events, like the highly successful BBQ series we had this past summer. We’re catering to a new country club member. Not everyone who comes here, comes here just to play golf,” stated Murray.

Social life at the clubhouse continues to be in full swing any time of year as well. Engaging events include crab fests, cooking classes, wine and yoga, wine and paint evenings and special-themed dinner nights. Most recently, a well-attended tapas night included crab and spinach Diablo, Swedish meatballs and inspired roasted lamb cigars with blueberry balsamic. Live acoustic music adds to the romance, charm and fun of this exquisite experience.
