Help Save Milky Way Farm by Supporting Local Art

Wyebrook Farm Cows

The Matthews family has operated its dairy business at Milky Way Farm in Chester Springs for more than a century. As wholesale milk prices continue to fall, the family has had to sell off some of its cows to meet growing expenses.

Recently, Milky Way turned to acclaimed Chester County artist Richard Bollinger to help supplement lost revenue in an attempt to keep the cows on its 103-acre farm. Bollinger’s response was to create a watercolor painting, Milky Way Morning, which features the farm’s 230-year-old stone springhouse beside a venerable sycamore tree and a wooden footbridge over a small pond.

There are about 500 prints available for $95 each. On Sunday, October 18, visit Milky Way Farm between 1:30–4:30 p.m. and purchase a personalized print. You can also experience the farm’s Pumpkin Harvest Time with free hayrides and a $3 family-friendly corn maze on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m.– 5 p.m.
