Dish LLC Announces Launch of Cider Culture, the Go-To Resource for Cider Industry News and Information

We couldn’t be more excited to announce that Dish LLC has launched a niche publication, Cider Culture, to deliver the latest in cider trends, destinations and news to consumers. The hard cider revival may have hit the scene as a hip beverage trend, but its hometown roots and varied styles clearly resonated with our team.

“It’s a delicious product that’s turning heads in the beverage world and has strong roots in (my hometown) Gettysburg in Adams County, Pennsylvania,” shares Mary Bigham, our co-founder and co-owner of Dish LLC.

“I’m enamored of the ciders in Pennsylvania and am impressed with the American cider industry growth as a whole. As a consumer, it has been difficult to find out the latest about ciders and has been a challenge to get my hands on new ciders to try, so it made sense to create a resource like Cider Culture. In addition to consumers, there is also an opportunity to bring together the cider maker and producer community and provide an outlet for them to share, learn and get support to grow their businesses. I am personally passionate about helping this industry grow, as is our company, so it’s a natural extension of our publication TheTownDish.com to provide this platform to share valuable information and content. CiderCulture.com is dedicated to celebrating the culture of cider producers and consumers.”

You’ll discover that the online publication is full of up-to-date information on cider trends, production technology and innovations from Penn State Extension and industry experts. The content features cider events, education about styles and tastings as well as cider destinations, regional and national cider makers and even cider recipes and cocktails. The collaborative and educational nature of Cider Culture is a valuable opportunity to move the industry ahead.

Carla Snyder, Ag Entrepreneurship/Marketing Educator with the Penn State Extension Office, says that collaborating with us at PA Eats was an easy choice. “Cider Culture combines the effortless appeal of their other products with easy-to-access educational information on the entire hard cider industry for consumers and producers.”

The grassroots efforts of small cider producers is paying off, as today’s consumers want that special touch and homemade feel; mass-produced products with no back story are falling by the wayside for all kinds of consumers, not just food lovers. This should come as no surprise to us locals, as Pennsylvania is the fourth largest apple-producing state in the country. The ease of sourcing local ingredients is an attractive venture for producers and consumers alike.

“Cider Culture and our collaboration with PA Eats is a great step in expanding our robust hard cider program at Penn State Extension,” says Snyder. “Now cider apple growers, cider producers and those who love the beverage can all have one easy-to-access resource to what’s new in hard cider.”
