New in Haverford: Green Engine Coffee Company

Green Engine Coffee

On Wednesday, November 4, Zach Morris—co-owner of two sustainable businesses, Urban Ecoforms and BioNeighbors—plans to bring an unparalleled coffee experience to the heart of Haverford with the opening of Green Engine Coffee Co., a coffee bar serving freshly brewed artisan coffee along with a seasonal menu of baked goods and sandwiches.

Green Engine will serve a selection of coffee and espresso beverages from local favorite Rival Bros. Coffee, a Philadelphia-based, small-batch, custom coffee roaster. Working with top-of-line coffee equipment, including their “Green Engine”—an emerald green La Marzocco GB5 espresso machine handmade in Florence, Italy—and an Oji Kyoto Cold Drip brewer from Japan, Green Engine’s baristas will hand-craft drinks to order.

White and natural earth tones, the light marble-topped coffee bar and large bay windows looking out onto Haverford Station Road create a bright, inviting atmosphere in each of the distinct seating areas. Additionally, a mix of textures will be also be used throughout, most notably on an accent wall that will be covered with a customized 81-square-foot vertical green living wall (pictured above). Wi-Fi will also be available to guests.

Green Engine Coffee Co. will be open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m.–6 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m.–4 p.m. For more information, visit Green Engine on the web and on Facebook.
