Whole Foods Market in Devon and Wynnewood recently raised $9,527.39 in monetary contributions for the Chester County Food Bank as part of Feed 4 More, a national customer donation program. Shoppers were invited to donate funds at time of checkout throughout the holiday season to support the Chester County Food Bank.
Whole Foods has donated funds and food valued at over $45,000 since its partnership with the Chester County Food Bank began in 2012. In addition to funds and food, Whole Foods Market Devon has given their time volunteering at the Food Bank and at its partner farm sites.
The contribution will support the Food Bank’s distribution program to over 120 partner agencies, including the Food Backpack Program, which distributes 2,000 “food packs” each month to 25 school and after-school programs, and the Fresh2You Mobile Market, which brings fresh produce from June through November to communities that lack sufficient access to fresh, affordable food. The funds donated will have a big impact for the tens of thousands of men, women and children in Chester County that struggle with hunger and food insecurity.
