Be Our Valentine NICU Reunion and Givalanche Campaign at Chester County Hospital

It is the season to shower people with love. There’s no better time than Valentine’s week to honor the caregivers and those who provide heartfelt concern for the tiniest patients at Chester County Hospital’s NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).

This Friday, February 12, NICU alumni are invited to join the team at Chester County Hospital for a NICU Reunion during the Be Our Valentine event, hosted by The Women’s Auxiliary to Chester County Hospital, NICU physicians and nurses. Former NICU families will gather with staff members to share memories and celebrate the beautiful lives born at the hospital and then cared for by the neonatal team. The fun will take place between 10:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. when cookies and refreshments will be served. There will also be a photographer there to take complimentary photos of the children for the families to have as a keepsake of this special day.

Families can RSVP online for this Valentine’s event and photo session, and share their own special Chester County Hospital NICU memories on the Facebook event page.

The Chester County Hospital Foundation is also asking the community to assist the amazing work of the NICU team through a recently launched Givalanche campaign (Giving + Avalanche = Givalanche) that will financially support the good work of the NICU.

Chester County Hospital’s NICU, which is affiliated with and staffed by CHOP neonatologists, is a Level III intensive care nursery—the highest level and the only one in the county. This means it has in-house neonatology specialists 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year. A Level III NICU can take care of babies at all gestational ages, and the team is capable of handling the most complex medical situations. High-risk infants delivered here can stay here; they don’t have to be transported elsewhere for treatment, and that’s better for both the mother and the baby.

Understandably, the cost of this specialization can add up quickly and the hospital relies on donations to be able to offer the highest level of care to its tiniest patients. All newborns requiring intensive care deserve the most advanced medical capabilities, so the hospital is asking for its community’s help to ensure that necessary funds are in place for all newborns in need of its services.

To help this vital NICU continue its extraordinary work for our community, please support Chester County Hospital’s NICU Givalanche campaign today.
