The Desmond Project to Host Student Achiever Banquet at The Desmond Hotel (April 24)

The Desmond Project Kitchen PrepFor the past 20 years, The Desmond Project, created by Michael Chain Sr., has enabled local high school students to get a firsthand look at hotel and business operations with the help of The Desmond Hotel.

Great Valley High School students pursue their business class by working on several projects throughout the year, including fundraisers and also the Student Achiever Banquet. This year, with money raised from various fundraisers held during the first half of the school year, students were able to host a luncheon for local senior citizens.

For the Student Achiever Banquet, students who have been selected based on resumes and interviews take part in all aspects of carrying out the April 24 event. Some of the tasks that the students will complete include selling advertisements, developing the menu, marketing the project and the overall organization of a banquet for more than 300 guests. Tickets for this special event are sold to the parents of the students.

The Desmond Project offers students working knowledge of hotel and business operations and allows them to play a part in it all. We applaud this wonderful collaboration!
