4 Reasons to Head to Chaddsford Winery’s Baconfest (April 30–May 1)

Spring is finally here—what better way to celebrate the warmer weather than with wine? The only better way to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and rising temps is to pair your wine with bacon. Who doesn’t love some crisp and salty bacon, especially if you’re eating it while sipping some wine? If this sounds like your perfect pairing, be sure to head to Chaddsford Winery on Saturday, April 30, from 11 a.m.–7 p.m. and Sunday, May 1, from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. for the second ever Baconfest. Need some more reasons to get yourself to Baconfest? Check out our list below:

Wine, Obviously

Chaddsford Winery is home to a variety of award-winning wines. Your ticket includes a complimentary glass of wine. Which will you choose? Perhaps you want to root on those Fightin’ Phils with Chaddsford’s Philadelphia Phillies Club Series red, mourn the eventual end to a great Flyers season with the winery’s crisp Flyers White or be one of the first to try the 2015 Artisan Series Dry Rosé (in case you miss the release during Dry Rosé Release Weekend). Of course, additional wine will also be available for purchase by the glass and bottle.

Pork-a-Palooza

Even though this is a Baconfest, be prepared to partake in a variety of pork-centric products. There will be food trucks galore onsite with delicious sweet and savory items for sale. Oink & Moo will be serving scratch-made thick cut chipotle honey bacon. Pbon’s will have a choice of beef or chicken cheesesteaks with bacon pieces, crab meat and cheese with bacon pieces or Taylor pork roll with cheese and bacon pieces. The Polish Connection will be on site with its famous Polish Pierogi Melt served with bacon as well as potato and cheddar with bacon. If you have a sweet tooth, better save room for dessert! Rendezvous Crepes is serving Nutella and bacon crepes, and Waffles & Wedges will tempt you with bacon pieces, Reese’s peanut butter sauce and Hershey’s chocolate syrup or Liege-style waffle with bacon. Yum!

Baconfest Apparel

That’s right, you can get your hands on a limited edition Baconfest t-shirt to commemorate your awesome time eating bacon and drinking wine. If you want one, better act fast! Purchase the t-shirt package for $25 and get admission to Baconfest, a glass of wine and a sweet t-shirt.
