Chef-a-Topia in Kennett Square—Now Serving Sunday Brunch

Late last summer, I sat on the terrace of the Market at Liberty Place with the expansive windows opened wide while the breeze gently poked at hanging baskets of flowers and imagined some day enjoying a social brunch out on this zen-like, open-air space.

Good news! Chef-a-topia has not only ushered in some great spring weather for this year but has also begun hosting a fantabulous Sunday brunch from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. on the terrace. That’s right—come feast your eyes (and your taste buds) on a bustling, recently upgraded kitchen whipping up menu items that will start your Sunday with perfection.

Tucked in a cozy corner of the Market at Liberty Place, Kennett Square secret weapon Chef Ray and his staff dole out beautiful creations including eggs Benedict, brioche French toast, Kennett mushroom omelets, creamed chip beef and sausage gravy over biscuits. Farm-fresh eggs with home fries, seasonal fruit and bacon are also a regular part of this new Sunday tradition. Feel free to custom order a special dish just for you, too!

And if scrumptious Sundays aren’t enough to tempt you, Chef Ray is scheming some amazing Saturday evening soirees. Menus and wine-pairing options with Market at Liberty neighbor Paradocx Vineyard are in the works for a “Chef’s Table” series of four-course prix fixe dinners that promise delicious food and a great time. I can’t wait to see the creative menu unfold (rumor has it that a few crab nights are involved). I do have it on authority that Diane Simmons of Market Place’s Sweet Magnolia Bakery will be involved in coming up with that fourth-course dessert. Stay tuned to PA Eats for details on that later.

Of course don’t forget Chef-a-Topia’s already-famous weekend raw bar (buck-a-shuck specials), marinades, soups, salads and convenient gourmet meals in the grab-and-go case. Chicken pot pie, hummus and a bangin’ lobster mac ‘n cheese are waiting to be snatched up and easily put on your table, too.

Keep an eye on Chef-a-Topia’s website and Facebook page for up-to-the-minute details and menus. And remember, on-site parking is free.
