8 Mobile Eats You Can’t Miss at Chaddsford Winery’s Spring 2016 Food Truck Festival (May 14–15)

Chaddsford Winery has become one of the Brandywine Valley’s go-to venues for fun events. From Baconfest to Wine & Chocolate Pairings and Winter Wine-derland, some of our favorite weekends this year have been spent sipping wine at Chaddsford!

Now that spring is firmly here, take in the blooming scenery, sip locally produced wine and sample fine food truck fare during the weekend-long Spring Food Truck Festival. The event unfolds on Saturday, May 14, from 11 a.m.–7 p.m. and Sunday, May 15, from 11 a.m.–6 p.m.

Some highlights of the weekend include complimentary winery tours at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. each day and live music all day long with appearances by Hake & Jarema (Saturday, 12–3 p.m.), McChords (Saturday, 3:30–6:30 p.m.), Larry Roney (Sunday, 12–3 p.m) and Alex & Shiloh (Sunday, 3:30–6 p.m.).

Treat yourself to a wine tasting experience— either the traditional tasting ($10) featuring tried-and-true Chaddsford favorites or a reserve tasting ($20) showcasing the winery’s limited-release Artisan Series wines. Both tastings include keepsake glassware!

But let’s talk delicious, local eats. Food trucks galore will roll into Chaddsford Winery for the weekend, and we can’t wait to dig in! Here’s our list of can’t-miss eats (please note: food truck menu items are subject to change):

Pbon’s

Pbon's pork roll sandwich

Go full Philly with Pbon’s delicious sandwich crafted with grilled Taylor pork roll, egg and cheese on a pretzel roll.

Waffles & Wedges

Waffles and Wedges

Got a sweet tooth? We suggest the Party Crasher—a from-scratch Liege waffle topped with vanilla icing and rainbow jimmies. Yum!

The Plum Pit (Sun. Only)

For something totally unique with great flavor, try the “The Squealer”—a BBQ pulled pork sandwich topped with fries and apple slaw.

The Polish Connection

These pierogies are the best you will taste outside of Poland! Try the potato and cheddar cheese with bacon variety and thank us later.

Ka’Chi (Sun. Only)

Want a perfect snack to go with your wine? Order up the fried kimchi rice balls, filled with house-made kimchi, a blend of cheeses, rice, sesame seeds and scallions, all rolled in panko bread crumbs and fried to perfection.

Punk’d Pineapple

At Baconfest, Punk’d Pineapple served maple walnut ice cream topped with crispy bacon and sandwiched between a Krispy Kreme donut. We’re crossing our fingers that this spectacular dish makes a repeat appearance.

Southbound BBQ (Sat. Only)

May we recommend the pulled pork, served in a Carolina-style vinegar based mop sauce with BBQ sauce on the side? Don’t forget the burnt ends baked beans!

The Happy Pita

Go Mediterranean with the falafel—ground chickpeas, garlic, onion and parsley formed into a ball, deep fried and served with hummus, tzatziki and pita bread.
