Mediterranean Cuisine Comes to PA in Series of Courses with Penn State Extension

Following a Mediterranean diet is not only good for your health, due to the nutritious ingredients which many Mediterranean dishes contain, but it’s also a delicious culinary option. Have you always wanted to learn more about Mediterranean cooking and its history and nutritional qualities? Then, the Mediterranean Cuisine Comes to You course series offered by Penn State Extension is for you!

The series consists of four classes focusing on the Mediterranean diet, hands-on cooking, tastings and Mediterranean-inspired activities. There will even be a class focusing on wines of the Mediterranean.

During the course, a cookbook and handouts will be provided to help students follow along during and outside of class. Guest speakers will include Master Gardeners Brenda Thorpe who will talk about bees and Holly Thorpe fromWolff’s Apple House who will provide information about seasonal vegetables.

The classes will unfold on May 25, June 1, June 8 and June 15 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Penn State Extension campus in Springfield. The cost is $80 to attend all 4 classes or $24 per class if attending 3 classes or less.
