Take a Walk on the Wild Side with 7 Gettysburg Cocktail Finds

Mojito

It’s comforting to know that popular mixed drinks are available at just about all local bars: rum and coke, whiskey sour and vodka cranberry, to name a few.

But where do you go in Gettysburg if you want to try something different? I’m talking about a drink so unique that its description makes you want to buy it simply because you know it will look and taste fun.

We’ve rounded up some of our favorite crazy cocktail finds in Gettysburg. Know of any more? Be sure to tell us in the comments!

Dobbin House

The Rum Bellies Vengeance cocktail is so potent that the Dobbin House Tavern, Gettysburg’s oldest historic home, limits it to two per customer. The cocktail is a mix of light and dark rums, exotic liquors and fruit juices. No wonder it’s a house favorite. Be sure to simmer down with water after your indulgence. 89 Steinwehr Ave., (717) 334-2100

Three dessert martinis at this popular spot can surely substitute as the adult version of an orange creamsicle or piece of chocolate cake.

The Fallen Angel Martini is a mix of vanilla vodka, Baileys, Godiva dark and a splash of cream. If that’s not enough chocolate for you, try the Chocolate Martini, which adds both light and dark crème de cacao and Godiva white and dark for the utmost chocolatey flavor.

If you’re still left wanting something more, go for the Orange Dream Martini, made with whipped cream vodka, triple sec and orange juice and topped with whipped cream for an elegant display. 1 Lincoln Square, (717) 338-5455

Mamma Ventura

This Italian restaurant located on Chambersburg Street in Gettysburg has a variety of drink specials. They may not seem like the craziest, but the names are all you need to become intrigued.

With cocktails such as The Fazz, Captain Hurricane and Tongue Twister, Mamma’s is sure to surprise. But if you need a little tang in your life, try the Sweet Tart, made with Smirnoff Citrus, black raspberry schnapps, cranberry juice, sour mix and lemon lime soda. It may be simple, but with a name like this, you never know what you’re in for! 13 Chambersburg St., (717) 334-5548

The Pub and Restaurant

To cool down on those hot summer days, The Pub and Restaurant, located right in the center of Gettysburg, offers an array of cocktails. But did you ever have a frozen adult beverage made with ice cream?

The White Dove is made with Amaretto and white crème de cacao and blended with vanilla ice cream. It’s topped with chocolate swirls, whipped cream and a cherry—but don’t get confused, this isn’t a sundae. Put your spoons aside and take a gulp; it’s time to enjoy its deliciousness.

Yet another cocktail on the menu, the Jalapeno Pineapple, will spice up your day or night. The margarita is made with Cuervo Gold tequila, triple sec, lime juice and pineapple-infused simple syrup that contains jalapeno juice. Make sure you don’t take this drink lightly—it packs a punch! 20-22 Lincoln Square, (717) 334-7100
