Kildare’s owner Dane Gray shows excitement leading up to this colossal tournament and recalled when his love for the sport began: “When I was growing up in Australia, we would only get one hour a week of English soccer highlights, which I would watch religiously … after watching the 1990 Italian World Cup, I have been hooked ever since.”

The pub itself offers a menu that mixes its heritage with locality, obvious in the plethora of dishes that are equally creative and comforting. The appetizers offer groups a shareable choice while enjoying a drink, and a hefty selection of entrees, sandwiches and burgers fills out the menu.

Alongside soul-warming meals, the décor creates the cozy feeling of going back in time, while still being able to enjoy the game on HD TVs, of course. Dane explained that they’ve seen a growing love for the sport in our local community and noted an “electric” atmosphere in the pub during the World Cup a few years ago.
