Phoenixville’s annual festival honoring horror movie cult classic The Blob will be rolling out its red carpet from July 8–10 with tons of Blob-centric events.
On July 8, there will be a viewing of The Blob at the historic Colonial Theatre and a re-creation of the run-out scene from the movie. Unfortunately, tickets to this popular event have sold out, but you can still view all of the run-out action from the street—it’s definitely worth coming to town to check it out!
The following day, July 9, will feature a full-day street fair from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. with costume contests, a fire extinguisher parade, storytelling and plenty of food and other vendors filling the streets. Also on July 9, the Colonial Theatre will be showing double features, such as The Blob with This Island Earth and also with Queen of Blood. For those who want to view a late-night double feature, there will be a showing on Sunday night of The Fiend from Beyond and The Wall People.
During Blobfest, local restaurants and bars get in on the fun by offering Blob-themed food and drink specials that are equally creative and delicious.
