Bakers of Buffington

Since 1987, this bakery has been creating custom desserts, cheesecakes and pies for weddings, graduations, birthdays, showers and just about any celebration you can dream up. The Bakers at Red Lion

Loaves of fresh-baked French bread, boules and a few surprises—baked onsite by Barbara Churchville and Nancy Fenstermacher, affectionately known as the “bread ladies”—await you in a quaint home with a French flag located just behind Longwood Gardens. You have to arrive early (they open at 9:30 a.m.) because the bakery sells out fast. Breads are great to pair with local cheeses and wines from Galer Estate Winery, which is conveniently located across the street. Bakery hours are limited to Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. 327 E. We reviewed this decadent hotspot when it first opened last year. Stroll the aisles of Amish-made goodies if you dare, but we warned you. Gigantic donuts, sticky buns, pies, breads as well as pretzel rolls and chocolate-covered everything (yes, even bacon) abound. If you come out of here empty-handed, you’re just not doing it right. Yori’s Church Street Bakery

Open since June of 2012, Yori’s touts a list of desserts that includes cakes, pastries and holiday specialities. Everything is done on site from scratch.
