A Look Inside Two Stones Pub’s New Jennersville Location

by Karyn Simon

On the very end of the busy Jenners Village Shopping Center is a storefront with no sign, yet everyone seems to know that it is the future home of Two Stones Pub (2SP).

With several locations already thriving, and on the heels of the brand new 2SP in Hockessin, Delaware, the Jennersville spot will be the company’s fifth venue, and the local community is greatly anticipating its opening.

I recently had the pleasure of talking food, menu and grand opening details with Chris Meyer, director of culinary operations, and Mike Petrilla, executive chef.

2SP’s menu offers the much-loved Tacos Locos, famous Fry Piles, burgers and sandwiches across the board at all locations, but each restaurant also has its own signature dishes. Upon start-up, the Jennersville menu will mirror that of Kennett Square’s, but as the culinary staff gets a feel for what the patron base likes, they will customize some dishes. When asked if 2SP takes customer feedback as input toward what we will see on the final draft, Chris and Mike told me that this is absolutely the case.

Daily food specials help the chefs feel out what will excite diners in each location. For example, specials in Wilmington, Delaware, are heavily seafood-based, whereas here in southern Chester County, game such as venison and quail do very well. Chef Mike, from the Kennett Square 2SP, will get Jennersville off to a solid start with his daily culinary creations.

Perhaps it is this keen intuition and feel for the local customer base that is making this 2SP opening a highly anticipated event. Chef Chris also attributes the passion behind the food, dedicated staff and meeting the customer’s expectations for keeping the people coming back for more.

The Jennersville location will have seating for 120, which is a little less than its neighboring location in Kennett Square, but will boast a larger cocktail area with plenty of seating and a stand-up rail that can accommodate larger groups. Outdoor seating will also be available in front with a patio setup.

Two Stones Pub is slated to open late summer 2016. Follow the restaurant’s progress on Facebook.
