Phoenixville’s Top Iced Beverages Keep You Cool While Summer Winds Down

Move over pumpkin spice—it’s not your time yet.

Summer is still trucking along hot and heavy, and Phoenixville has just the ticket to keep you cool.

Stop in to any of the following great local restaurants to grab a frosty beverage and soak in the last of those hot summer rays:

Steel City Coffee House

Steel City Coffee House

Steel City is back and better than ever thanks to new owners and soon-to-be-newlyweds Laura Vernola and Ed Simpson. The newest Steel City treat is a cold brew using best-seller Hobo Ed’s coffee. Coarse-ground coffee beans are seeped in a custom container in quarts of cold water for 24 hours to create a concentrate, and then are cut with cold water.

Or, try the delicious frosty mocha coffee with whipped cream. Steel City also has an awesome new product—Steel City Nitro. Add in locally sourced edibles, like treats from Beverly’s Pastry Shop in Pottstown, and live music, and you’ve got a cool coffee experience. 203 Bridge St., (484) 924-8425

Artisans Gallery & Café

The cafe offers a full range of coffee and tea, but don’t miss its tasty blended tea and fruit smoothies with mango, peach, lemon, banana, pomegranate, blueberry and strawberry. Healthy and refreshing are the key to these smoothies. 234 Bridge St., (610) 935-1965

Nook & Kranny Kafe

Nook and Kranny iced tea

Look beyond coffee and try Nook & Kranny on Route 23 for its fresh iced teas. Co-owner Christina Rubeo explained, “We make our iced tea fresh every day with regular tea leaves from Maja Tei and special flavors during the summer months, like strawberries and cream green tea or pineapple and jasmine or mango.” 847 Valley Forge Rd., (610) 933-5393

The Barrel Wine Bar

Go here for an adult beverage—Dirty Iced Tea is a sure-fire way to cool down … or get fired up. 222 Bridge St., (610) 933-3399

Thai L’Elephant

One of the best iced beverages in town comes from Thai L’Elephant, which offers a wide range of drinks. Our favorite? Creamy, cool Thai iced tea. Or try chrysanthemum tea—a sweet herbal tea. 301 Bridge St., (610) 935-8613
