Coatesville to Host Vintage Automobile Grand Prix (Sept. 24)

Fans of classic cars, get ready to start your engines! On Saturday, September 24, the city of Coatesville will host the inaugural Coatesville Invitational Vintage Automobile Grand Prix. The event will feature approximately 50 vintage autos and motorcycles dating back from the early 1900s through the 1960s.

The race is from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. and will follow a 2.2-mile course along Lincoln Highway encompassing the heart of the city and its neighborhoods. These stunning and historic vehicles may be previewed along the “Pit Row,” open from 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. along two city blocks (100–300 blocks of Lincoln Highway).

Visit Gateway Park starting at 11 a.m. and grab a drink from the Victory Beer Garden or a bite to eat from vendors like Wood’s BarBQ, Ruffini’s, Mister Softee and Rita’s Water Ice. Entertainment will be provided by Silver Sound Disc Jockey, the Raiderz Starz and some special surprise guests to be announced on Grand Prix Day.

Be sure to check out the delicious assortment of local foods throughout the event area, including Fuel City CafeOsman’s Pizza, No. 1 Kitchen, Taquitos Neza, Willy’s Family Restaurant and more. Trinity Episcopal Church will be selling Ballpark hot dogs on their lawn (3rd & Main) while supplies last—cash only.

Admission to the Grand Prix is free, and proceeds will benefit the City of Coatesville’s Park and Recreation Improvement Fund.
