Food drives are a necessity throughout the year, but especially during the holiday season. In the greater Philadelphia area, more than 750,000 individuals face hunger every day. In order to lend a hand, two local moving companies and Move for Hunger are playing a part in separate food drives to make sure that food gets on as many tables as possible this season.

Hopkins & Sons Moving Company and Whole Foods Market Glen Mills (Now Through Nov. 14)

New Castle, Delaware, moving company Hopkins & Sons, Inc. is lending a hand to provide food for the local community as they partner with Whole Foods Market Glen Mills’ food drive. From now through November 14, drop off nonperishable, Thanksgiving-themed food items at the Glen Mills Whole Foods. Hopkins & Sons has set up collection boxes and will transport the food to the Food Bank of Delaware once the food drive has ended. 475 Wilmington West Chester Pike, Glen Mills

Gentle Giant Moving Company and Burlap and Bean (Nov. 14–Dec. 9)

Another Move for Hunger collaboration taking place this holiday season unites Gentle Giant Moving Company and Burlap and Bean. Nonperishable holiday food items will be collected at Burlap and Bean from November 14 until December 9, after which Gentle Giant will deliver the items to Philabundance for distribution to the community. 204 S. Newtown Street Rd., Newtown Square
